  2. Drain and add to a pressure cooker with fresh water in a 1:3 ratio and a pinch of salt.
  3. Pressure cook on medium heat for 12-15 minutes (about 4-5 whistles) until completely tender.
  4. Let the pressure release naturally, then use in your curry, usal, or misal.

  2. Add to a deep pot with water in a 1:4 ratio and bring to a rolling boil.
  3. Reduce heat, cover partially, and simmer for 35-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Top up with hot water as needed and cook until each bean is soft and tender.
