Grown on certified organic farms and left completely unpolished, it carries no chemical coating or artificial shine, just pure, wholesome dal the way nature intended.

Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container after opening. Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture to preserve freshness.
- Rinse the toor dal 2-3 times until the water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes for faster, smoother cooking.
- Add to a pressure cooker with water in a 1:3 ratio, a pinch of turmeric and salt.
- Pressure cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes (about 3-4 whistles), until soft and mushy.
- Let the pressure release naturally, whisk smooth, and temper with your favourite tadka.
- Rinse and soak the toor dal for 30 minutes, then drain.
- Add to a deep pot with water in a 1:4 ratio and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer, skim off any foam, and cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook until soft, then whisk smooth and add a tempering of ghee, cumin and garlic.
- A pinch of turmeric and a few drops of oil while cooking prevents frothing over.
- Soaking is optional for toor dal but makes it cook faster and smoother.
- Whisk the cooked dal for that classic silky restaurant-style texture.
- Finish with a hot ghee tadka of cumin, garlic and dry red chilli for best flavour.
